Movie Meme

Early last week I was tagged by a friend on Facebook for a movie meme.

The meme asks that I list 15 movies that have stuck with me. After listing them I am to tag whomever I wish to perpetuate the cycle. I’m not overly fond of perpetuating this meme, but I don’t mind sharing which movies have made their mark on me me.

In no particular order here are 15 movies that made their mark on me…

1.The Goonies

I can’t explain it, but this movie makes me smile every single time I see it. Maybe it’s because of kids, maybe it’s the pirate ship. I just know that I smile every time I hear the name One Eye’d Willie.

2. Terminator

The original. Why did this stick with me? It might be because it followed some Warner Brother and Hanna Barbera cartoons that we had recorded on a VHS tape and no one said I couldn’t watch it. A field covered in skulls can stick with you at that age.

3. Interview with the Vampire

I saw this movie 13 times in the theatre, and I am not ashamed to admit it either.

4. Labyrinth

Do I have to explain this one?

5. Original Sin

This movie redeemed Antonio Banderas in my eyes after his portrayal of Armand in Interview with the Vampire.  But that’s not why the movie sticks with me. The story is amazing.

6. Equilibrium

The best movie with the least amount of advertising ever. So very very stylized. And a great interpretation of classic themes.

7. Serenity

I am a Browncoat.

8. The Breakfast Club

I could also list just about every Brat Pack movie made.

9. The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The antici….pation is killing you isn’t it?

Wow…. six more movies to go. This is a bit harder than I thought it would be. Let’s see.

10. The Usual Suspects

11. Hackers

Because this influenced how I saw the world of computers for a really long time…

12. Cool Hand Luke

This is not on the list because I like the movie. It’s on here because I DON’T like the movie. You know that scene where he eats all those eggs? Yeah, that’s why.

13. The Princess Bride

14. Meet Me in St. Louis

And finally…

15. Pacific Rim
