Music Crush of the Moment

You know the TV shows that occasionally showcase a characters ability to play an instrument or sing? There are times when you can just tell the person that is portraying the character doesn’t have a clue as to what they are actually doing. And then there are those that just exude their abilities. Hugh Laurie fits into this category. There are numerous episodes in which we see the title character House playing the piano and, if I recall once or twice singing.  So it did not surprise me to find out that Hugh Laurie had an album – Let Them Talk. It was a Blues Album and quite good too. (In my opinion.)

Shortly after my initial search Hugh released a second album – Didn’t it Rain.  I snatched it up and was immediately smitten by the entire thing. Another Blues album, it built upon the first release.  He collaborates with so many talented musicians and singers. And it’s clear (at least to me ) that they all enjoyed this endeavor very much.

Kiss of Fire is a Tango. It reminds me of the stage. I simply adore it.

Kiss of Fire by Hugh Laurie

I touch your lips and all at once the sparks go flying
Those devil lips that know so well the art of lying
And though I see the danger, still the flame grows higher
I know I must surrender to your kiss of fire
Just like a torch, you set the soul within me burning
I must go on, I’m on this road of no returning
And though it burns me and it turns me into ashes
My whole world crashes without your kiss of fire

[Simultanious:]

I can’t resist you, what good is there in trying?
What good is there denying you’re all that I desire?
Since first I kissed you my heart was yours completely
If I’m a slave, then it’s a slave I want to be

Don’t pity me, don’t pity me

Give me your lips, the lips you only let me borrow
Love me tonight and let the devil take tomorrow
I know that I must have your kiss although it dooms me
Though it consumes me, the kiss of fire!
