Thoughts on Re-branding

I’ve been wrestling for a few weeks now regarding Picklesnot Design. Specifically the name.

I truly do like the name, but, after five years I have come to feel that it doesn’t seem to fit me as a creative person. (Does that make any sense at all?) It feels…cumbersome. The novelty of having to explain where the name comes from every time I mention it or meet someone new wore off long ago.  I think it might be time to re-brand.

Don’t get me wrong, I will always be thankful for the inspiration the little dragon gave me. But even then I was struggling with a name.

I’ve narrowed it down to two names (or variants there of) and in the end it will be my choice, but I am interested in your thoughts regarding the possibilities.

1. Loose Ends

The reasoning : Aside from the fact that I have a blog called Loose Endings which encompasses almost every aspect of my creative endeavors and would tie in almost seamlessly. It reminds me very strongly of designing and fibre arts which is my primary focus. A common phrase for knitters, crocheters and weavers alike is “I have to weave in the loose ends.”  It is one of the last steps of finishing off a piece.

2. YarnPixi (Designs/Studio)

The reasoning : This is more of a descriptive of me. My love of all things fibre related and the fact that I am short of stature.

What do you think?
