This morning the alarm went off at 6 a.m. Of course it’s supposed to go off – It’s Monday. We have to get up and get things done. Get to work. But I didn’t move.
My alarm clock will play music if my iPod or iPhone is connected to it when the alarm is set to go off. The song it starts with is the last song that I played. Which this time happened to be a song I was sharing with my sister which I purchased roughly two weeks ago upon hearing it for the first time. A song called I’m the One That’s Cool.
I’m the One that’s Cool was released as a bonus (and sort of an enticement) when the new dedicated channel on YouTube Geek&Sundry went live on April 1, 2012. It features Felicia Day and her fellow Guild members. Co-written by Felicia Day and Jed Whedon (they also collaborated on other Guild videos) it’s a fast paced rock anthem for Geeks world wide.
And it was exactly what I needed to hear this morning.
Geek & Sundry features the best of indie geek culture and the internet’s foremost geek voices. Founded by the producers of the hit web series The Guild, Geek & Sundry offers a diverse lineup of shows that create a hub for fans of comedy, gaming, comics, music, and literature around the world… Spearheaded by prominent geek figureheads, Geek & Sundry features original content by Felicia Day (The Guild, Dr. Horrible, Eureka), Wil Wheaton (Star Trek, The Big Bang Theory), Veronica Belmont & Tom Merritt (Sword & Laser), Paul & Storm (w00tstock), and Dark Horse Comics.

If you haven’t checked the channel/site out yet, you absolutely should. Because seriously…It’s cool.
I’ve totally been sucked into one of Zynga’s newest offerings. CastleVille. (I know I know! Bad Cheryl!) I like CastleVille for one reason and one reason only. It’s based on an “energy turn system” Once you are out of energy you have to either wait until the energy is restored – 5 minutes for 1 energy point- or use some item. It makes it very easy to go in and play then walk away.
Along the lines of mini-games I’ve also been playing DrawSomething. An App game available on both andriod phones and iPhones. It is a pictionary type game that is quite addictive. I thank my sister-in-law for introducing the game to me – my niece was looking for some new players (she’s really good!) and I get to laugh at my inability to draw…
What around the Net is catching your eye?
That wraps things up for now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!
